What is the strange smell coming from my Air Cooler?Updated 10 months ago
You may have stored your Air Cooler away until this year, we are a cold country! This smell is just your Air Cooler asking you to give the honeycomb filter a quick clean before use.
We recommend cleaning your blue honeycomb filter every year before you begin to use it for the season, and weekly when in constant use. As the filter is made from cardboard, we don't recommend cleaning it with water, just leave it to dry in the sun to clean bacteria.
Steps to clean the filter:
- Gently remove the filter casing from the rear of the unit.
- Remove the honeycomb evaporative filter from in front of the air filter casing.
- Use a firm brush and/or vacuum cleaner to clean the air filter or any dust.
- Place the filters outside in the sun to kill any residual bacteria.
- Return the air filter and honeycomb filter casing, then the entire casing to the rear of the unit.
