How do I make something in EasyFreezy?
- Add your liquid ingredients to the tub without exceeding the maximum fill level.
- Fit the mixing paddle and attach the tub securely.
- Plug EasyFreezy in and press the Power button.
- Press Mode until your chosen programme is selected.
- Use the + / – controls to choose your preferred thickness.
- Press Start.
EasyFreezy will automatically cool and mix your ingredients.
Processing can take up to 70 minutes, depending on the ingredients, programme and texture selected. When your creation is ready, the machine will beep and COL will appear on the display.
Place a cup, cone or bowl beneath the dispenser and move the dispense handle to the ON position to serve.
Do I need to freeze my ingredients beforehand?
No. EasyFreezy is designed to cool and freeze liquid mixtures inside the machine, so there’s no need to pre-freeze a bowl or your mixture.
In fact, do not add ice cubes, blocks of ice, frozen fruit or other solid frozen ingredients to the tub, as these can become trapped by the mixing paddle and damage the machine.
For the best results, chilled liquid ingredients can be used, particularly when making frozen drinks such as margaritas.
Can I add ice cubes to EasyFreezy?
No. Do not add ice cubes, blocks of ice or loose frozen ingredients.
EasyFreezy freezes the mixture itself. Hard or frozen ingredients can become trapped by the mixing paddle and may damage the machine or tub.
Can I add frozen fruit?
No. Do not add frozen fruit or fruit chunks directly to the machine.
For the Fruit Slushie programme, use a smooth fruit juice or smooth purée without pulp or solid pieces.
How much liquid should I put in EasyFreezy?
The correct quantity depends on what you’re making.
Slushies
- Minimum: 600 ml
- Maximum: 800 ml
Ice cream
- Maximum: 600 ml
Don’t overfill or underfill the tub, as this can affect performance and the final texture.
How do I make my EasyFreezy mixture thicker?
Use the + / – thickness controls to adjust your target texture.
A higher thickness setting creates a thicker finished result.
If your mixture is still too thin:
- Increase the thickness setting and run another cycle.
- Check that you’ve selected the correct programme.
- Check that there is enough sugar in the mixture.
- If making an alcoholic drink, check that the alcohol content isn’t too high.
- Make sure the tub has been filled above the minimum level.
My EasyFreezy mixture is too thick. What should I do?
If your finished mixture is slightly too thick, allow it to sit for a few minutes before dispensing.
You can also select a lower thickness setting next time.
If the mixture is too thick to dispense:
- Turn the machine off.
- Wait approximately 1 minute.
- Remove the tub.
- Carefully pour out the contents.
Why does EasyFreezy need sugar?
Sugar isn’t only used for sweetness - it also affects how your mixture freezes.
Your mixture should contain a minimum of 6% sugar.
As a guide:
- 600 ml mixture: at least 36 g sugar
- 700 ml mixture: at least 42 g sugar
- 800 ml mixture: at least 48 g sugar
If your mixture doesn’t contain enough sugar, add fully dissolved sugar or ingredients such as simple syrup, agave, honey, maple syrup, juice or a sugar-containing soft drink.
Can I make sugar-free slushies in EasyFreezy?
Low- and no-sugar drinks aren’t recommended on their own.
Sugar is required for the mixture to freeze correctly. Drinks such as sparkling water, black coffee and sugar-free soft drinks may freeze too solidly and could damage the machine.
Your mixture should contain at least 6% sugar.
Why is fat important when making ice cream or milkshakes?
Fat helps create the creamy texture needed for ice cream and milkshakes.
If the fat content is too low, your mixture may remain too thin. If it is too high, the mixture can begin to butter.
For Ice Cream mode, full-fat milk is recommended.
Can I make alcoholic drinks in EasyFreezy?
Yes. EasyFreezy includes dedicated Cocktail and Margarita programmes.
For the best freezing performance, the final alcohol content of your mixture should be between 6% and 16%.
Alcohol reduces the ability of liquids to freeze. If your mixture contains more than 16% alcohol, it may remain thin or fail to freeze correctly.
My frozen cocktail isn’t freezing. What should I do?
First check the alcohol content of your complete mixture.
The recommended range is 6–16% alcohol.
If the mixture is too strong, dilute it with a non-alcoholic ingredient such as juice, soda or another mixer and restart the programme.
Also check:
- You’ve selected Cocktail or Margarita mode.
- Your mixture contains enough sugar.
- The tub has been filled to the correct level.
